It is a smart strategy for NOrtel to publicize future possible contract wins.

It's a smart strategy until the real winner is announced. I would recommend looking at the lawsuits against Ciena for announcing POSSIBLE contract wins with AT&T. If Nortel can't deliver, those that purchased Nortel in the 60's will be upset.

I don't blame Nortel for announcing possible contract wins, they aren't getting the respect of a Lucent or Cisco. Customers are looking at Lucent and Cisco before Nortel, and Nortel MUST correct this. So we are starting to see official news releases on possible contract wins.
