bill - by the same token, in the 1st PR you cited

"As a part of our continuing work in support of our multi-vendor network, we are evaluating the Nortel Networks DMS-250 for potential use as we evolve our long distance network from circuit- to packet-based switching," Dan Sheinbein, AT&T vice president of Network Architecture and Development said in a statement.

that's coming from the mouth of a AT&T VP.

Regardless, as I said in my prior post, to me [you and I can certainly agree to disagree] this is really "the making of mountain out of a moehill." Every company [of the size of NT, CSCO, LU etc] produces tons of PR daily, and the news feeders sometimes repeat them [by design or by accident,] readers should decipher what is deemed worthy and what is not. As a skeptical long term investor, I very much like to see "the fat lady sings" before making a conclusion, and even that may not be enough. If memory serves, you and I 1st met in PAIR thread with the implicit understanding that you were a fan of WSTL. Guess what, both have fallen on hard times, despite the deals they announced. The moral point of the story is that even the deal was seal, the buyer can still back out depending on the economic development [like the situation with BA.]

best, Bosco
