<I'm baffled about the causes of the flight>

There has been no news to discusses just reruns of the the same, sometimes idiotic, positions. Very easy to "Cyberskip" (quotes appropriate) through actually.

The fundamental questions take a sidestep to the short term reality. What will AMD really earn (or lose) in Q1. Analysts are backpeddling from January as fast as they dare. Some overcompensating and predicting $1.00 per share loss. Most everyone agreeing the losses may not be as big Q2 as Q1 and the stock price is closer to the floor than ceiling. Even the foes are thinking that the "suckers" will rally the stock price for anticipation of the results of the K7 sometime between now and Q4.

The hard questions are:
1. AMD Q1 loss size
2. AMD Q2 profit/loss size
3. Quantity and speed of K6-III shipped in Q2
4. Quantity and speed of K7 shipped in Q2

The thread is now in a wait and see mode.

Scumbria - AMD's Kmart 62 400 MHz CPU pricing is in a FREE FALL !

Pricewatch.com now has it down to only $112 with 10 vendors selling from $112 to $120 !

That report of ASPs in the $70 range may be close to the TRUTH.

450 MHz Kmart 62 has dropped to only $179 and the 350 MHz is at $74.
