Kinda OT:

Sarge,

Watch the Russell and S&P Midcap indices. I've been hearing an interesting theory that we may finally see a "January Effect" in mid/small cap stocks as fund managers find themselves unable to find value in the big caps.

Although the RUT is displaying a head & shoulders formations, if you look to the larger cap indices like the ^RUI it appears that an uptrend is trying to assert itself. The ^MID looks to be putting in a short-term double bottom here and may move to the upside.

Most importantly, the ^RUA (Russell 3000) looks to be moving higher as well.

This is very possible and may be the saving grace that averts an all-out market crash. It should certainly assist the broader mareket A/D lines.

Is Bill Fleckenstein still perusing this thread? I would like to hear is opinion on an April "January" effect.

Regards,

Ron

Sgt., at first I didn't think he knew they were on the air live. Poor guy, in his case there IS someone home...but no Internet connection.

Did I imagine it or did he say "Help! I've fallen, and I can't get up!"
