I believe it is due to "buy on dip" mentality.

MU has intraday resistance right here though at 48 1/8

order imbalance. a broker will take a block of shares if a lot of little people have open market orders and fill it as he sees fit, usually he enters the orders in later and it wont be the same as what the current price is.
