Re: 4th paragraph mentions ONEM CEO Telecom Wireless Announces the Acquisition of a Wireless High-Speed Internet Service Provider Business Wire - March 26, 1999 10:30 ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 1999--Telecom Wireless Inc. (OTC BB:NOYR) announced today that, through its acquisition of Phoenix Communications Inc., it has agreed to buy Directnet. Directnet is a privately held Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provides high-speed Internet service to the Gold Coast of Florida, via wireless technology. According to Hybrid, which is a leader in the manufacturing of this technology, Directnet is the oldest operating ISP offering this type of service in the world. A recent estimate in Boardwatch Magazine stated that in 1998, less than 800,000 ISP customers used high-speed Internet access. They suggest that by the year 2000, this will grow to 6.9 million and by the year 2007 this will grow to over 136 million. This is an important acquisition to Telecom Wireless because this is the most profitable and one of the fastest-growing segments of the industry. Telecom Wireless has already begun test marketing the delivery of both ISP and voice services through this channel. Phoenix Chairman and CEO Dr. James Roberts suggests that the recent IPO of OneMain.com (Nasdaq:ONEM), which represents 17 different ISPs with 331,800 subscribers in Pennsylvania, Kansas, Arkansas and Illinois is very exciting as it represents the valuation of this type of rollup strategy. Telecom Wireless will use the expertise of Directnet to enhance the revenue and expand its product lines of the ISPs it acquires. Telecom Wireless announced the acquisition recently of Phoenix, which is a privately held Colorado corporation that has significant management, financial support and agreements to acquire several ISPs and competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs). Roberts will assume operations of Telecom Wireless upon completion of the acquisition. Roberts has over 25 years experience in the industry, having served in senior management positions for Motorola (NYSE:MOT), MCI (Nasdaq:WCOM), and McCaw Communications, now AT&T (NYSE:T).
