Fun is "... a little bit scary and you don't get hurt."

A great definition of a fun for many "normal" people. They stay this way all their lives and invest in mutual funds, especially Index funds. They rarely publish their autobiographies.
There is a very "timid" group of kids who don't like being scared at all -- can't stand horror movies and climbing heights. They stay this way all their lives and invest in Treasury bills and insured savings accounts. They fall asleep in boredom trying to write their autobiographies.
There is another group of "adventurers" who define fun as challenging and dangerous -- can rarely enjoy events unless their lives and fortunes are at risk. These stay this way all of their often short lives, invest in techstocks, and speculate in options and futures, and stay leveraged to the hilt. They rarely have time to write their autobiographies.

I adore your young Luke.
And that's a wonderful definition. As we get older, we start seeing the possibilities of getting hurt (physically or emotionally)in many more situations than we did when we were younger. We may stay safer, but we have less fun.
LAst week at Six Flags, the Log Flume ride-one of the ones I enjoy(ed)- flipped over, killing a woman and injuring several others. So cross that fun off my list this summer.

I am continually impressed by young Luke's wisdom. When puberty strikes and upsets that applecart - well, I hope you are as formidable as only an 8 foot space reptile can be.

As for "fun" - I guess that disqualifies straddling AMZN, no? :-)
