I would be careful of this mid day rally...futures are trading down and I get the feeling there are institutions ready to sell in the afternoon on any strength.

As long as users are human and endearingly irrational, Linux, with all its elegance, strengths and advantages, could well languish as a fringe phenomenon, condemned to play second fiddle to mediocre operating systems owing to the sheer mediocrity of the user base it has to woo.

That is not necessarily a bad outcome. After all, people get the systems they deserve.
