Once the target-branch is determined, the results of that branch are retained and the results from the "wrong branch" are simply discarded.


If parallel branch-taken and branch-not-taken load misses produce a bank conflict in DRAM, there is a very large performance penalty associated with the parallel execution.

This is not a new idea. The PPC 620 was architected to do the same thing. The concept and the PPC 620 both proved to be a big waste of effort.
