<But Europe didn't want of a Muslim body in its Christian community >

Gustave,

European needs? They certainly can not enter this particular political argument. Europe has presently a muslim body already regardless if the inhabitants in various countries like it or not.

You know as well as I do that the Blinkers of this world are not asked for their opinions when it comes to border crossings. Never mind about their consent. This " democratic " way is walked in any country on this globe.

Because politicians do whatever suits their fancy without consulting anyone outside of their exclusive members club. And only for eyewash sakes they oppose other members on any given issue.

YOU SHOUD KNOW THEIR GAME.

I can not speak for the inhabitants of Europe but my guess is that there are numerous, besides myself, who rather maintain a relationship with the devil they know as experimenting with the one they do not.

Let's spell it out.I have no objection to any muslim as far as the religion part is concerned, but I do not like my country to be used as a platform to propagate the very reasons, the propagator had to leave is/her own.

If that is what they want, they should try to enter the U.S.A. Using the traditional route for the religious prosecuted.

The EU rejected Turkey as a full member at this time for reasons I am not willing to copy from the internet. Let all the sloth bellies on SI find the links for themselves. If their attention span can handle it.

<Now, tell me Eddy... if France was able to reconcile with nazi Germany about 50 years ago, why Europe can't reconcile with Turkey today? Are the Turkish crimes against Human Rights worse than the German crimes?>

France was able to reconcile with " Nazi Germany " because both nations attopted to reasons laid down by Schuhmacher and Adenauer and followed through up to this day in genuine harmony and without any religion involved.

Except from one incident 300 years ago Turkey always was a reliable friend of Germany.Today more as three millions of Turks live in Germany as consequence and I would say that's ok with every single German I know.

The EU did not reject Turkey as future member because of the say so of Germany, but was rejected because of a all members vote.

If Turkey upon this very rejection with good reason attached, swiftly turns around and purchases Boeing airplanes instead of Airbuses and furthermore engages in agreements with Israel, the latter not in the long term interest of the residents in the EU, then obviously those moves could confirm that the NO vote was not without reason.

Regards,

ED

I have to agree with you Gustave, there certainly is more than just human rights issues behind Turkey's rejection. It's a shame too, Turkey's been holding the line all these years, keeping the the Bosporus open and letting the US stage air and nuclear forces there, right in the Russian backyard. They deserve better, for all their flaws.

The Kurds are a shameful matter as well. The great powers have been using the Kurds for most of this century in one struggle or another. Whether it be against the Ottomans, the Iranians, the Iraqis, whatever publicenemyflavoroftheday. They're hopes of a Kurdistan have been shamefully manipulated time and time again to make them of use. Kind of sentimental, but promises are promises. Not in politics, I fear.
