I have eaten at Back Yard Burgers many times. . .the wife takes the kids to Taco Bell and I run across the parking lot and get a flame-broiled chicken sandwich. . .which comes in about 4 varieties. [come to think of it all 3 Williamson county stores are near Taco Bells] They also sell meatless Gardenburgers. . .the only fast-food restaurant in this part of the country that focuses on healthier fare. This is a long-termer with some near-term prospects based on earnings reports that are due next week. It is a low-price/high-fundamental [undervalued] based position play, with a near-term swing potential on earnings. The drive-thru stores were OK, but when they added dine-in, it significantly improved sales. I have spoken with store employees and managers on a number of occassions. They feel the company is growing steadily and that business is always improving. They do very little advertising, which I believe contributes heavily to their positive earnings. A visit to a store, quickly leaves a good impression. Not a cheap imitation wannabe, but a clean, bright, store that looks sharper than the top name fast-food stores. Service has always been correct. . .I have very little patience for fast-food stores. . .I have only been thru the drive thru once and cannot recall how it went, since it was before they built dine-ins. This is a slow growing company, that could take years before it gets significant growth or attention. But with the fundamentals they present, it should hold these levels. . especially if this next financial report is more of the same. I think that yesterday we saw the low. I don't expect any news and there are no rumors that I know. I made my first buy a few minutes before the close, yesterday, then forgot about telling everyone until just a while ago. I don't think that Burger King owners are losing any sleep over Back Yard Burgers, but smaller Southern chains like Sonic, Captain D's and Mrs. Winners/Lee's Chicken are definitely taking notice.
