Well what do you know I got an email from Dell in reply to mine.

Scott:
Remember I sent an email a week or so ago asking them why Dell is keeping mum when analysts are pounding on the company and that they should either confirm or deny these rumors/comments/innudendos being broadcast by the pundits?Well I got a reply just now,I think I will post portions of it here for y'all to see.Take it for what it is worth.

I wasn't expecting a reply but I am glad they took the time to respond in an intelligent way without violating any SEC rules.

This what I wrote to Dell on March 22,99.

Subject: Analysts opinion and Dell's silence

Dear Sir/Madam

As a long time investor in Dell I am kind of distressed at the fact that investors have been taking a beating almost for a month and half on a daily basis. As you are aware that many analysts are coming out and saying PC sales and revenue growth are under pressure in general and now some say it is affecting Dell as well.

Todate we have not heard anything from Dell either refuting or agreeing with these assessments by the analysts,in the mean time the stock is losing its value by the day mostly on these comments.

This being the case many investors are losing faith in the company and jumping ship and my question is shouldn't you at least put out a release to alleviate the fears of your investors as the slow down they speak of could be company specific. If Dell is not experiencing any slow down I think Dell should say so or if they are experiencing a slow down in sales and revenue growth Dell should let the investors know as well instead of releasing the information to a selected few analysts.

I hope the company seriously consider coming out with a press release or else the company can sit there while some analysts dictate the future and prospects of the stock. Frankly I am getting tired of this erosion in the stock price on a daily basis but I can live with it if the analysts are speaking the truth, if not it is quite an injustice for DELL to sit silently while the average individual investor is getting hit on a daily basis.

Best Regards
Mohan Marette/Investor
