Here's a little something from the Options column at TheStreet.Com. I'm on the last day of my 30 day trial and I'm pretty sure I'll subscribe. (Note that if you're a Schwab Signature Service member, which is based on account size and/or number of trades, you can subscribe at half price.)

Where they're not looking for protection, however, is in Microsoft (MSFT:Nasdaq). Mister Softee is set to split Monday and before the bell this morning, one important New York options trader said he was expecting the busy pace to continue.

The company's call options accounted for the four most active contracts on the Pacific Exchange this morning. Even though the stock was soft, down more than 1 to 178 and change, the April 170, 175, 180 and 185 calls were bustling. The 170 contract was busiest, trading 4,400 contracts.

"People are playing for that split," the New York trader said.
