OK, Tim this is probably true if it is a cash deal like XYLN, but what if it is a stock deal, like GBLX/FRO deal... it was 1.2 billion buyout in stock...

marketwatch.newsalert.com.

It worked out to $62/ share on the day it happened (3/17/99), according to the article, but FRO is at $51/share today, highest it has been since the announcement was $55.

GBLX was @ 52 close 3/16/99... it is now @ 46 11/16...

GBLX is down about 13%... FRO is down about 7%, never got anywhere near $62... I guess I am wondering if it is a stock deal, what are the chances of getting the full value at the time the deal is made??

maybe this isn't a good example, but only one I know of <ggg>.
