The company is free to make announcements related to their normal business, but they need to be careful not to say anything that could be interpreted as promoting the stock. The analysts for the underwriters are not permitted to initiate any coverage during this period. While other firms and analysts who did not participate in the IPO could initiate coverage, they generally defer their reports until the underwriter analysts issue their reports.
