Saw several large blocks going off at ask this afternoon. I suppose some accumulation has commenced. Also, COMS will not sell Palm. Too many people salivating over it to let it go. If anything, COMS will continue to expand alliances, especially as related to Palm/Internet/cable/"HOMECONNECT" areas.

Largest Internet Access Provider in Brazil Selects 3Com
Technology; Universo On Line Uses the Total Control
Remote Access Concentrator On 60% of Its Network

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26,
1999--3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS) announced that Universo
On Line (UOL), the largest Internet access provider in Brazil, will
incorporate 3Com technology into its national network. Presently, 74
Brazilian cities use Universo On Line services to access the Internet.
According to UOL's technical director, Luis Molento, by the end of
the year there will be 100 points of presence.

In October of 1997, Universo On Line, a company that belongs to
two powerful media conglomerates in Brazil, Folha and Abril,
discovered the need to expand its services throughout the country and
decided to establish its own access provider, Acessonet. It searched
the market for digital communication servers capable of handling
users' demands that were compatible with Brazilian communications
standards.

After analyzing performance and adaptability to the Brazilian market
access standards, Acessonet chose the Total Control(R) remote access
concentrator to become part of its national network. Additional 3Com
technology is also present in the core of the network, to manage all
Universo On Line servers.

"With 3Com's support we were able to implement the system much
faster," says Luis Molento, technical director for Acessonet/UOL.

According to Mr. Molento, 3Com equipment characteristics such as
density and modularity, together with ease of upgrading and fast
paced technology updates, contributed significantly to the expansion
of Universo On Line in the country.Using this expansion capability,
which allows up to 420 simultaneous calls within the same Total
Control chassis, the provider has plans to extend its network presence
to 100 points throughout Brazil by the end of the year.

"Universo's vision of quick, easy Internet access closely compliments
3Com's vision of converged networking," said Irfan Ali, senior vice
president and general manager of 3Com Carrier Systems worldwide.
"Through the synergies of our two companies, we'll be able to
provide both Internet and Intranet access for all of Universo's
customers throughout Brazil as well as a viable networking solution
as they move towards convergence."

In April of 1998, 3Com was the first manufacturer to incorporate 56K
V.90 standards into its remote access concentrators. "The capability
of adapting 3Com products to the latest technological standards in the
market brought great advantages to Universo On Line, which became
the first Internet access provider to offer a 56K connection based on
the new standard," said Molento.

The Total Control platform, as well as all other 3Com V.90 products,
allows Internet access providers (ISPs) to use a universal system that
is interoperable and compatible, supporting standards such as V.90,
the 56K and all previous modulating standards.

According to research announced by Dataquest in March of 1999,
3Com is still the leader in remote access technology, with 29 percent
of the worldwide marketshare. "We are concentrating our efforts
toward the proliferation of the standard, in our multi-service platform
Total Control," said Anderson A. Andre, Business Development
Manager for 3Com of Brazil. About 3Com
