"Intel's award-winning Gigabit Server Adapter is also proving to be an outstanding web server accelerator component. ''Using the Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Server Adapter and Novell BorderManager Caching Services, we accelerated our Web server's capacity to an incredible 10,000 hits per second. This combination significantly reduces wait times and provides a more satisfying Web surfing experience for Internet users,'' said Ron Lee, Manager, Novell Advanced Development Group.

The Dell'Oro Group quarterly report released last month states that Intel was the market segment share leader for Gigabit Ethernet connections during the fourth quarter of 1998, shipping 39 percent of the industry's Gigabit adapters. The report shows Intel's market segment share for Gigabit connections increased 14 percent over the third quarter, while its nearest competitor's Gigabit connections fell 14 percent. Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, IBM, Siemens, Toshiba, and Unisys have chosen to ship Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Technology as part of their server offerings."
