I hear you. I will say that first article was not up there long, and CBS certainly took swift action.

The challenge for SPLN is that Sportsline itself is a separate company from CBS, whereas ESPN.com is an integral part of ESPN, with better avenues for cross promotion. ESPN has 24 hours a day on 4 networks to promote its site. CBS only has the hours during sports programming to promote theirs.

Just musing...
