Must admit I'm not following the ALTS thread at all. That in a nutshell tells you what I think about their position in the marketplace. There are too many also-rans in this biz and I believe consolidation and elimination will be the order of the day. The leaders will need to come to the table with true and saleable differentiation. At AIIM this year there will be a whole bunch of these small companies, interesting that the most of the larger ones will not be there at all. Didn't Delphi say things were looking great for EB about 2 years ago? ;o (There is an interesting battle ground forming - I'm sure ALTS will not be a significant part of that. Where OTEX, FILE, DOCS, DCTM land will be interesting plus a mix of new players coming from outside the traditional imaging or DM area)
