MAR 26, 1999, M2 Communications - Dell Computer Corporation is claiming to
be first computer hardware vendor to offer the supply and installation of the Novell
Internet Caching System. According to Novell its Internet Caching System
increases the capacity of any Web- server ten-fold by offloading routine work from
the server in order to improve network efficiency and Web performance. Because
of this Dell is planning to market Novell's system with its own range of PowerEdge
servers. The price is yet to be announced although Novell is offering unmatched
price/performance.

Others insights from Novell's BrainShare this morning, collected from afield
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

At the Brainshare keynote this morning, the Novell
Chief Scientist said some organization wanted to have
a Caching tournament with all the top level caching
companies and products. Novell was one of the two
comapnies invited that actually showed up.

Novell's ICS (internet caching system) system has been re-engineered and is
exponentially faster than any other
on the market. The press release will come out next week.

Also, the billion object NDS tree demoed on Netware this
week will supposedly be produced on NDS for NT next week.

From a technical perspective, Novell has many new and
innovative products that will be released this year.

This is my 4th Brainshare and I can say this is the
most excited the attendees have been in my 4 years.

Novell is definitely back.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

NOTE: Novell's volume today was 1/2 the avg. daily volume. could see a good pop going into next week. Stay alert.

SM and others interested in evolving tech trends.

NOVL introduced "officially" (although us on the NOVL thread knew about this 2 months ago..)Digital Me at this past weeks BrainShare. It could become a household word as Netscape Browser has over time. Sign up to demo their software release when its available. Its basically a secure digital persona identity that will run on Novell's NetWare system, and I'm sure will run on other platforms over time. Here's the link.
