Wouldn't it be nice if DIMD and CD NOW formed a joint venture to sell MP3 artists over the net for half of the normal distribution channel...the price CD's should be at now if it were not for the Fat Cat Record Co.'s and inflated retail markups. Even with DIMD and CD NOW getting a cut of the action, the artist would probably get more for their work due to the low cost of distribution.

Just a thought.

Well, I've experimented with the Rio software and one can just make mp3 files from cds with out having to go to the web. But when you click "buy a cd" you do get taken to CD now. I was always under the impression that mp3 might hurt a company like CDnow but it appears they're in cahoots.
