Chew on this.........

I am heavily invested Telecommunication stocks and follow the industry daily. We are on the verge of a major change in the way that we all communicate.

Long distance will be delivered over the Internet rather then cables. You will be able to use your cell phone to send and receive email, send and receive a fax, access your office computer, send and receive pages as in beepers and the list is growing. You will be able to use any of the above mentioned devices to communicate with any of the others. This will be done with the use of voice recognition and text to speech programs.

Does this brief description of the future of the telephone give you any new ideas as to why AOL might be interested in Nextel as a wireless phone add on to their infrastucture?

GTE just started converting their central offices to this new platform. plpt.com

This platform would fit right into Prodagy's business plan.
These new services will first be aimed st the business customer and will enhance the "mobile office" crowds productivity.
