Did not catch it all but I think I heard that DW sold about 4% of his holding - 450,000 shares

Marshall, allow me to present an opposing viewpoint: Four percent -- that's hardly dumping, is it? I mean, let's let the guy actually liquidate some shares and take some well-deserved cash out of this. That is the point of this whole exercise, after all. Yes, $81 million catches the eye, but, as you note, it's only 4 percent. And as long as he's careful with his sell programs to avoid downward pressure on the stock, I have no problem. Now if he dumps 25 percent....

In general insider selling for any reason is not positive.
I think that's a terribly broad generalization. Why do executives start and IPO these companies for, if not to eventually take some profits? You can't spend stock certificates. Responsible, regular selling is justifiable and not an issue of concern. Besides, insider selling is a far less reliable indicator than insider buying.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, though. I appreciate it.

Marshall Dix, just relax ! CEO's sell their holdings all the time.

There is really nothing to be alarmed about. I am amused everytime I hear people think the world is going to an end when there are some inside sellings. Besides, in this case, it's only a minor percentage.

These guys probably need some cash to do their private investments, buy a luxury boat, or an island. We all need some cash sometimes.

All MSFT investors know Bill Gates and Paul Allen sell their Microsoft shares many times a year.

I would want to take some profits too if I were DW. He sold 4% of his holdings, but in two months his shares will split along with ours. I am sure that he is anticipating a significant upside after the split - just as I am. It may not be immediate, bit it will come in the weeks and months following the split.

When this stock split in January it fell in a few days - all the way from post split 154 to 82 (intraday) and it may do so again. But look where we are now a mere two months later!! 180+ anticipating 250 to 300 by split time again!

In the days following the split I am going to be watching this stock for an excellent buying opportunity to add to my meager position. Maybe DW wants to do the same?
