Howdy Yall!

I usually just sit on the sidelines and WATCH and LISTEN, as I believe one tends to learn a lot more when their mouth (or fingers in this case)is shut and their ears are open. Plus, the fact, I am a novice to this game, so I have a lot to learn from most of yall.

I must say that over the past several weeks I have learned a GREAT deal (some by listening and some by gettin' financially stampeded by not quite knowing how or where to do my own DD) and I am coming to understand the level of expertise it takes to perform well on a consistent basis in this arena. Just thought I'd take the time to share some of what I have learned in my humblin' endeavor.

1) All the "numbers" can be RIGHT and the Company can be WRONG!
(i.e....small floats, increasing volume, etc etc etc)
2) All the "numbers" can be WRONG and the company can be RIGHT!
(i.e....large floats, decreasing volume, etc etc etc)
3) All the "numbers" can be RIGHT and the leadership can be WRONG!
(i.e....Paper looks good, but management rides "side-saddle")
4) All the "numbers" can be WRONG and the leadership can be RIGHT!
(i.e....Paper looks WRONG, but management is able to ride to
the buzzer)
5) Determining public sentiment towards a stock or sector can be
just as important (and in some cases more important) than
makin' hard copies, pushing pencils and knowin' the background
of the company, it's officers, demographics, market swings and
whether or not the CEO wears boxers or briefs and maybe is just
one post shy of a complete fence.
6) Tryin' to determine "public sentiment" can be harder than
tryin' to predict the mood swings of a manic-depressive (or
bi-polar for the politically correct).
7) PRs are almost always "exciting", but highly embellished
and rarely have the effect on "price" that we think they will
either in a positive or negative direction.
8) MMs are evil wicked people whose mothers dress 'em funny!
9) "Shorters" are dam# near as bad, but just don't have mothers!
10) And finally patience can either be a virtue or a vice
depending in large part on whose "patient" you are!
(Yes, there is some sense to that last humor)

What's the moral of the story? Hell, I'm really not sure there is one at this point of the "cattle drive". But, I love the challenge of it all! Ain't it fun? Remember, guys and gals it's NOT really that important if you're right or wrong on a particular issue (and I have seen enough finger pointin' and jealousy), it's just important to be right MORE than you're wrong! Get ya ears in the game and your mind and wallet will surely follow.

If you all don't mind, I'd like to share my "picks" with you. I call 'em "Kowboy's GREAT 8". Not because I think they are GREAT, I just hope they will turn out that way (provided the creek don't rise)!

Here ya go.....Please let me know what you think of these selections (both pro and con) as I welcome ALL opinions in an effort to become as knowledgeable as most of you fine folks!

1) DGV
2) PLRP
3) PQT
4) TLWN
5) WOOD
6) KANA
7) CRNC
8) ABFG (This investment should be covered in nothing more than "speculative capital") **** That is - I believe the company has promise but until they can present investors with some concrete facts and figures (filings, reporting issue or whatever) I would proceed, but with a certain amount of caution.

Let's try not to get the "sheet" kick out of us too much while we "Ride 'em"!

Best to all, regards and good fortunes........Sincerely, Kowboy.
