Thanks much, Joe. It is impressive and worthy of our attention. As for fast food via the internet? I can already buy Taco Bell in boxes, cans and Lunchables in the grocery store. The schools here serve Pizza Hut pizza and Sonic burgers. So in some regards, the answer is yes. I don't think that Back Yard Burgers has any interest in this area, but I don't think that is what you asked. Back Yard Burgers is a sort of "Chick-FilA" meets "Carl's Jr" but with a new twist. . .healthy fast food. There was a chain that I really miss from the 80's in Florida. . .don't recall name. . .baked their fries and used turkey burgers or chicken breast on wheat buns with honey mustard, lettuce, tomato and alfalfa sprouts. I loved it. Unfortunately, it was decades before its time. When I ask for a turkey burger in restaurants around Nashville, they think I am joking. They ask, "do you want the turkey or the burger?" If I try to explain, they get upset like I am starting trouble. . .they honestly have never heard of it. I WISH that Back Yard Burgers had turkey burgers, because our family would be eating there all the time, if that were the case. . . however, due to risk of salmonella and the length of time it takes to assure it is fully cooked, don't expect to see them any time soon. All that aside. . . the thing that I am looking for with Back Yard Burgers is this. . .they are split between franchise and company owned restaurants. . .good mix. . .and now with about 8 or more years doing the same thing, they have a great history with ever-increasing same store sales. . . so this little company looks better and better to the many companies that own franchises. When the Arby's model or Burger King or Wendy's is not pulling in the same dough that it used to bring, franchise operations can and do switch to store models that DO work. As Back Yard Burgers gets a reputation and notoriety, these franchisers could switch. We could wake up one day and read news of a 30 store franchise deal. The company only wants to expand at a modest, yet steady rate with company owned stores. But should a company like Host-Marriott discover them, then suddenly Back Yard Burgers could find themselves in shopping malls, airports and other high-traffic locations throughout the world. See Host-Marriott's website for details of what it is that they do. If BYBI was a losing scenario, with decreasing same-store-sales or not making any money, due to mismanagement, or following an old model that is getting tired, then the price would make sense. But that is not the case. They have a progressive menu, a bright and friendly environment, increasing SSS and profits. And as a stock, I think we have just seen the bottom. As for pulling back. . .I don't think we will be seeing 1.50 anymore. . .these companies with great fundamentals can't just go to zero. . .it is not worthless. It is selling near book value now. And with earnings coming out soon, I think that word will spread soon enough. This is a bottom fish that will get its day, in my opinion. Rande Is [see disclaimers]
