Joe,

We get our cable modem installed on April 1. Considering how most cable companies treat their customers, I found this install date a bit disturbing. :-)

Please let us know how the ADSL setup goes. Let's compare performance later to see how cable vs. ADSL stack up.

Joe,

Well I've had my cable modem for a while up here.. and it's really cooking lately.. I've got a 4mbps downstream and 1.5 mbps upstream rate at the moment, and it's actually pushing that out.. (my download speed record is currently 380Kbps).. I'm the only guy on the local cable loop ;-).. it's like have my own dual T1 line...

Oh, and our cable co allows up to 4 IPs per box.. simply plug it into a hub and go wild..

Regards,

Steve

Joe, pcAnywhere 32 (v8.0) and DSL get along well. A couple of my Bay Area clients put in PacTel ADSL recently. When I dial in its like being there.

Set the "Connection Info" to "TCP/IP" and "Settings, Network Host IP Address" to their static IP address. Set the login name and password then click on the icon and you're ready to rock and roll.
