Actually, 3dfx has a history of telling the truth about what capabilities their cards will have (this isn't official news, but it _is_ in their official magazine). As far as I know, no one has accused 3dfx of exaggerating their specs in the past. This is certainly not the case with Nvidia, who have been widely criticized for making performance claims that didn't show up in shipped products.

Nope - this is great news from 3dfx. This is HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED. Shoot, nVidia's already out with specs for their mythical N10 chip, why shouldn't 3dfx respond? The developers and early adopters that are highly influential in this market have, until now, taken it for granted that 3dfx has lost its lead to nVidia. This will cause them to rethink that assumption big time.

This is EXACTLY what 3dfx needs to do as we now start building up to Rampage. Today is the start of something B-I-G !
