First of all, opposing views are always welcome on this thread. We all want to see things from all perspectives. What is the point of a discussion if everyone agrees?

Secondly, I think we'd all agree that this is a speculative investment right now. We just hope it's a worthwhile speculation. <G>

Unfortunately I agree that Ampex is taking a big risk with internet. Question is, how soon can they hope for income. Their expensive debt facilities will be sapping cash while investments will be demanding cash. Although it's uncertain what Ampex's commitment to providing ongoing cash might be. Certainly if they exercise option to buy out or majority invest, a big outflow of cash reserves could be dangerous with bond interest to pay.

On the other hand, an IPO offering to raise money to further develop the video content and broadcasts could pay off the bonds and provide growth funds. Not to mention good exposure!

Could also be good for us. But I agree without some creativity, here, Ampex could be hurting from lack of revenue and rapid cash drain. Actually, I may have just realized what his plan is.
