If one is interested in holding a stock for long-term like 3 months, 6 months, even a year, what stocks would you consider looking into? It's getting to be spring and the outdoors beckons.

Hi Quad-K, Same with me as your father! We only had IBD, WSJ, VAlueLine to use and a phone to call our discount broker. I bought this computer last May 98 and due to fear <G> it sat in the boxes for a week! Took us several days to set up and get the NERVE to push the first ON button! I have since DOUBLED my two portfolios, and then some. I am doing frequent trading in my IRA (for tax benefits) and use the other for supposedly longer term holds...the only problem is I have a margin account and have benefited immensely from using it, so I will have plenty of taxes to pay this year already. We have only been trading online for 2 months now, and I am thoroughly addicted!!!!! What a blast!! This group of people is great.. lots of help, support and lots of intelligent posts to read.. I'm glad you are here too!!! Tell your mom to join the crowd...once you take that first step there is no looking back!! Regards to you and your family, Adelle
