I don't own qcom yet, Jill, but I think it is definitely worth watching. The company is still in its infancy if it is to become a Gorilla someday, as its market cap is only in the $6B range. I'm speculating that their cgr for sales and earnings may begin to accelerate as the cdma standard becomes universally adopted and older tdma base stations are converted to cdma, but I think the time scale will be measured in quarters, not days, so there is no need to try and catch the current momentum. My portfolio is pretty pat at the moment with aol, csco, msft and dell (which I've reduced to less than 25% of my holdings). All of these are great companies, which will outperform their sectors for years to come. I've been searching for a smaller company that has potential to join the +$100B market cap club, and qcom looks promising based on recent news.
