Can you give me the format of a US #SSN number, ie how much digits and so on. Problem is: I'm a nonresident alien in IRS definitions with a W-8 filed, so I have no U.S. SSN but a European one, which I supplied instead of.

Some sites accept a dummy SSN of any layout but not, for example PBS..

That my dear is illegal......you can be arrested for that.Federal law requires ss# for brokerage etc... just like banks....
