Take a good look at UBS on Vancouver. There's looks to be a lot of activity starting to happen. I'm not really sure whether it fits into a momentum play or a daytrade. Actually, I think it could currently fit very well into several categories....daytrade....short term hold, and medium term hold. 1) Volume is starting to spike way up. 500,000+ shares on Thursday. 1.4 million shares on Friday. 2) A number of indicators are looking strong. MACD and moving average both look very good right now. 3) Stephen Rosen, v.p and c.f.o. recently took a 4 million share private placement in the company. 4) Rumours (for what they're worth) are beginning to circulate that UBS is about to be awarded a substantial contract. 5) UBS is moving strongly out of an R&D phase and as of this month is starting to ship product. From their March 2nd news release: <<<<Shipment of the units began with the fulfillment of a purchase order from one of the Company's customers. The transmitters will be utilized for the terrestrial portion of a 100-channel satellite-to-car radio system for the broadcast of music and other programming to motorists throughout the United States. Within the upcoming months, Unique Broadband Systems will fill outstanding purchase orders for the transmitters, as the Company is now in full production.>>>> 6) For a decent overview from Cannacord, see Message 7551113 What I find particularly interesting is full roll-out of digital radio throughout North America. UBS already received one major contract last July from CD radio of New York (value of $3.7 million)which was a VERY positive development for the company. I think what is most important though is that this contract allowed UBS to be featured as one of the early leaders in DAB (digital audio broadcast). Given that radio stations MUST make this conversion (U.S. legislated), and that this conversion process must begin this year, UBS may be in a very lucrative position to capitalize on this massive switch to digital broadcasting. Is the recent activity an indication of good things coming? Something tells me we will soon see! Regards, Kevin
