John - Haven't heard of LPAC before, but something to keep in mind is that video compression, as a lossy, not-closed-form, method degrades the video like a photocopy if used too much. Thus, I would expect that editing places are careful about willy-nilly compressing things.

PS There are ways around this degradation, but only if you use exactly the same algorithm for compressing each time and the compression method is exactly matched to the decompression method. This can be controlled inside a shop, but it is a risky proposition, and is certainly to be avoided if possible by going with lossless compression or a more precise form of lossy compression.
