Hear, hear, Uncle Frank! But what to do if I'm allergic to pets (see advice item 9)? LOL

OK 1. Find a good woman to share your life with
OK 2. Have some kids and love them to pieces
OK 3. Take a job working for people you can respect
4. Do some volunteer work and make life better for those less fortunate than you
OK 5. Make some investments in good companies and watch them grow
OK 6. Don't take yourself too seriously
OK 7. Don't judge others by your own standards
8. Perform some acts of random kindness
OK 9. Get a pet who will love you unconditionally

Frank, Great list. I have a little work to do on it, but I am making progress!

>>1. Find a good woman to share your life with

i'm too antisocial for that...

>>2. Have some kids and love them to pieces

can't have 2. without 1. Besides, i doubt that parents ever really love their children... it's all ego gratification

3. Take a job working for people you can respect

??

4. Do some volunteer work and make life better for those less fortunate than you

interesting idea...

5. Make some investments in good companies and watch them grow

this market is way overvalued... P/Bs over 2:1 give me some sort of mental disconnect.

6. Don't take yourself too seriously
7. Don't judge others by your own standards

fair enough

8. Perform some acts of random kindness

yeah yeah yeah... that's some of that new age feel good stuff eh?

9. Get a pet who will love you unconditionally

yuck... pet fur everywhere...

Regardless of the fact that I'm negative, antisocial, and all of that: MSFT is overvalued from a fundamental standpoint.

WHen I said "it's going to get worse before it gets better" I was speaking about the upcoming windows 2000 and what a dog that will be. MSFT will try to foist their worst OS yet, off upon unsuspecting end users.

FWIW
Andy

Whoops! Andy's response made me realize I never got on this thread... besides, I can do this while I eat my lunch :).

1. Find a good woman to share your life with

Just had our 4-year anniversary.

2. Have some kids and love them to pieces

He's two. Loves his computer :). Kids are SO cool.

3. Take a job working for people you can respect

Done.

4. Do some volunteer work and make life better for those less fortunate than you.

I keep meaning to do this. I'd really like to volunteer with an animal rescue group, but I'm just SO busy... (what a lame excuse).

5. Make some investments in good companies and watch them grow

Do MSFT and CSCO count?

6. Don't take yourself too seriously

Does anyone take me seriously?

7. Don't judge others by your own standards

Oooh, that's a good one. Gotta work on that.

8. Perform some acts of random kindness

These are fun, aren't they?

9. Get a pet who will love you unconditionally

I've got three - two lab mixes and a cat. I'm making the rounds of the shelters looking for a calico kitten - I had to put my 14-year-old tabby to sleep a few months ago, and now the cat/dog ratio in our home is unbalanced...

Wow. Exercises like this really make you appreciate just how well off you are. It's much too easy to lose sight of that.
