I think any sort of "intelligent" analysis would suggest that a deal between APM and EMC makes no sense at all. There is no accretive aspect of such a deal that I can fathom. And there has to be thousands of better investments for EMC. I would expect to see EMC looking at software companies. But I have learned never to say never and have come away from the news bulletins shaking my head in wonder more then once.

I have trouble seeing this too. EMC isn't in the component mfg space, why would they want a head mfg?

APM has held up well given the sector decline of recent, I suspect since it's the unfavored Belle of the ball..

Imaging, trading APM share for share for WDC/RDRT/HMTT. A return to glory days, no? <g>
