Janice and everyone, Has anyone successfully downloaded Crayon Crawler? I tried several times on two different days, each time was unsuccessful. The PR announcing Crayon Crawler stated: During this initial beta release, 1st Net will only allow 5,000 free downloads available on-line to interested parties at www.crayoncrawler.com. biz.yahoo.com So, of course CC is no longer available for downloading. The only messages I've seen on the boards that were not done by insiders concerning CC have been complaints by those who were unable to download it successfully. Even in the e-mail I received the link provided and variations of the link, do not work. March 25th * March 25, 1999 * Dear Beta Testers We have identified some new problems using or installing the Crayon Crawler on certain machines. If you downloaded the Crayon Crawler prior to March 23, there is a new version available 4.04 that fixes many of the problems our Beta Testers are experiencing. If you got any of the following Error messages: "Invalid Character ID" "EOLE Exception at crayon.exe" "Invalid EDB Exception dB Engine Error" Crayon Crawler Boots up but all you get is a black screen with an exit button" Multi Echo's in Chat Unable to create profile Or any ODBC error This new version should correct these errors. If you are having problems with ODBC you need to download ftp://cc.rvc32.com/browser/mdac_typ.exe Run mdac_typ.exe first. If you get an error during installation "ODBC ODBCINT.DLL is different version than ODBCSETUP.DLL just continue and it will correct the problem. Then Download www.crayoncrawler.Company/ccdownload.asp then run crayon.exe. This version also has right button click help and some new features. Anyone who has downloaded the Crawler prior to March 23, 1999 is encouraged to download this new version. Please report any problems that you are having to tech@spirit32.com or Support@crayoncrawler.com and we will try to assist you as soon as possible. We sincerely appreciate you support and help with this Beta test. For those of you who have been unable to download the Crayon Crawler, the site was down while a new version was being uploaded on March 25. If you just click on the link in this email and you won't have to signup at the web site again. Sincerely C.C Admin Tom
