Maurice,

I was wrong the first time which is why I corrected it. APC "Sprint Spectrum" launched commercial PCS (GSM) service in November 1995 shortly after the conclusion of the A & B Block auctions.

Maurice - You forgot PCS PrimeCo startup in your historical list. I think that was really the big one that started in November 1985 after cellular in LA kept being postponed from May 1995 to... Finally, a couple weeks after Quentin Hardy's trashing of the Q in the WSJ in "Jacob's Patter", the PCS PrimeCo system was turned on in many cities and pretty much pulled the rug out from under the "CDMA will never work" crowd.
