what is the point of your post dagan...a rumor is a rumor is a rumor...when was the filing made, do you think they would have disclosed that they were in talks with BII to buy them out..get real, when we hear about it the first time, it will be a done deal...like in my profession, when we publish, is already old news...I am not saying the rumor is true, but you can not prove it isnt...and none of these commetns from company officials proves anything...and another thing, if this was a rumor started by a few internet junkies..I dont think the Wall st. Journal would report it...I guess they dont think its a completely crazy rumor..in fact they might even think it makes sense....your tactics are getting boring...leave it alone

Are you that worried that this thing might go up on Monday..you really make me laugh, this stock with revenues of 15 million is selling for $9, LOL, that is so cheap....look at the other internet issues....this is a joke, someday it will see the value it deserves IMO that will be much higher than the current price...and that day is coming very soon.....maybe even monday...of course valuation as compared to its peers....thats all we are going on in the mid-term outlook....

Hey Doug..... if you want to use a quote, don't take it out of
the full context.

Just for everyones benefit, here is the full quote, INCLUDING
the sentence before the one Doug chose and edited. Note that
eBAY states themselves that they are interested in expansion
and to do so THEY MAY ACQUIRE ANOTHER COMPANY. Here is the FULL
sentence from their filing:

"The Company may also use a portion of the net proceeds, currently
intended for general corporate purposes, to acquire or invest in
businesses, technologies, products or services that are complementary
to the Company's business. The Company has no present plans or
commitments and is not currently engaged in any negotiations with
respect to such transactions that are material."

Again, if anyone is interested in reading the full document that
eBay filed with the SEC, here it is:
sec.gov

Now this does not mean that they are talking to Bid.Com, in fact, I
hope not (at least not yet). I would rather see them on the NASDAQ
National Market for a while!!

Doug.... Why do you always try to slant things your way?

Barry

Doug.....a lot of Canadiens are in this stock and it is held within their Retirement Plans...this is the money they will rely on down the road(10-35 yrs)...the worst thing is for them to sell at a loss and see this stock go up a while later because of someone Hysterical on the web. If you have info we all want to see it....all we all ask is for accuracy and honesty....we all make trading mistakes...(sell too early...buy too late). Sorry that you sold early twice last week.

Yet more coverage for Bid.com in The National Post, Saturday, March 27, 1999

Excerpt:

The Internet has been a buzz word for stock issues south of the border for months but this week the craze swept through the TSE.

Stock in Bid.Com International Inc. (BII/TSE), on Monday already worth more than 10 times the 56¢ a share it was trading at in October, climbed more than 115% in five sessions this week. It closed yesterday up $1.05, or 8.2%, at $13.90 after touching a high of $17.60. It was the most heavily traded issue on TSE. The stock was so hot on Thursday that for about 30 minutes in the afternoon there were no sellers.

There was some talk that short sellers were being squeezed this week, resulting in the share price surge.

As of March 15, there were 1.3 million short positions in Bid.Com, up 70,672 from two weeks earlier.

Short sellers borrow stock with a hope of buying it later at a lower prices and the returning the security.

Yesterday, CNBC reported Amazon.com Inc. was looking to move into the online auction business and that had investors saying Bid.Com could be a possible target.

The rumours also have found their way back to the U.S. Business Week yesterday carried a Bloomberg story on its website about Bid.Com's stock price movement.
