Logistics, there are people who either can afford it or they really
need the speed,..., speaking of me? I am still using a 28.8 to
'talk' to you, it seems all right, but I plan to buy a new $499 or
$399 machine at the year end for bigger and better configuration (with
56 k!), maybe I can get a 450 MHZ/6 GB/64 RAM for that price!

let me tell you all ...i've used a dell pentium II with a 350 or 400 or 450 processor and GOOD OLE AOL ...and the results are just fine you can go from page to page as fast as you can read ... ok some times @home will be mili seconds faster ... but bottom line is how fast do you need to transmit a stock trade ... "NOT" ....MY aol connection is just fine and as a matter of fact when I had a second internet provider .... pac bell, and it was no better than AOL ... AND QUITE FRANKLY the ease of use does not come close to aol ... instant messages, sending links, and e mail are so easy compared to pac bell... why would any one want to hassel when its so easy on AOL... ALL your sponge brain arguments do not make a difference to me or all my friends across the country.... I will not give up my aol.

go aol go

I wouldn't use AOL again if it was FREE!
I'm perfectly happy with my unlimited hours $16.50/mo ISP.
I have the whole internet at my fingertips... What else do I really NEED?

" ATHM cost 39.99 a month. I think most users would prefer to pay the
21.95 or so a month for AOL"

RE: But don't forget a lot of these high speed on line services, like Road Runner, (not sure about ATHM) don't need a phone line. A lot of my friends use AOL ($21.95) and an x-tra phone line ($20). So if you think about it, after the one time set-up fee for ATHM or Road Runner, you may be paying the same amount, and are losing out on speed. I'm long AOL, but just wanted to point that out.
