I am still amazed, not to mention disappointed, that the leaders of high tech companies do not seem to feel any responsibility for what is an industry wide quality control problem.....

We don't do it very often, but part of the purpose of this board is to discuss Y2K's impact on the stock market. I am beginning to believe that there could be a tremendous public relations and trust issue with technology companies. Long before 01/01/00

I absolutely concur.

It will take quite a PR campaign where not only software vendors, but major banks, the petroleum industry, and not least, the utilitites, to walk the public through the efforts they have made toward resolving their issues.

I fully expect this PR campaign to begin in May and continue through Summer and Fall.

Regards,

Ron

Chirstine--Interesting analysis of y2k in the context Dyson's conference.

And if any of the digerati, technology elite, or marketing geniuses are listening out there let me tell you what this MOM, individual investor and recipient of multiple degrees has done. She put on placed a moritorium on the purchase of any hardware or software last fall. That's it. Zip, nada, nothing...No new desk top system, no new lap top, no new professional software...With the exception of a few educational titles purchased at Christmas for my son we haven't spent a dime. And won't until well post y2k. Hear that? Fix it, stop misleading the consumer and your outright lying and maybe you'll see some of my money again!

Thank you for your attention...Have a nice day.
