Great Morning Everyone

Well it's Sunday again, it's funny how they roll around every seven days!

Birthdays??? The count down to transition in life. A time table to keep score of ones deeds, both good and bad. Everyone has one each year and most use this day to celebrate yet a step closer to destiny. On my own birthday, I like to look back upon how I spent the preceding time (year) allotted to me. Was it spend productively, did I fritter too much away, did I destroy any of it? Now, I cannot, with any accuracy, speak for anyone else, but I am going to try today! Why? Because today is the birthday of someone who I have found to be a very dear sweet caring person, and I have a chance to blare to the world some thoughts about her and ways she spent her allotted time. By now everyone knows that I am speaking of E'Lane, who's shining beacon stands out in the darkness called life.

I came upon E''s first post to our thread almost a year ago. May 22, 1998, 3:42PM, Friday Afternoon, where she wrote:

"
Hope there is room for one more "space cadet" in here. Point me to the by-laws, give me the oath and the decoder ring and I will throw my stubborn, Southern, hard-headed pride in with your guys and hold till Roseanne sings the National Anthem again at a ballgame.

Not sure what I can add to the group, but if levity is allowed in here, I can hold my own. Oh, and I am fierce loyal to those whose team I am on.

Regards,
E'Lane"

Well, Roseanne has not been allowed to sing the National Anthem again, and she has been true to her words of loyalty. I like to look at "THIS" as E's birthday. The day she came into all our lives, and into mine particularly. I knew from the start, here was someone special. Not because of what she wrote above, but for what she wrote in private. She had a tender heart and an insight into the human spirit, the likes I have not seen very often, until I came across our thread where it seems to abound by the bucket fulls from everyone.

Well, She used the next several post just getting to know everyone, and sharing something of herself. Then (and this is personal) came her first public post to me! Did she get all flowery in her response to one of my notes, NO!, she slapped me upside the head (with a tender touch) which I fully expect her to do this year, and next year when Veterans Day rolls around and I fall into that dark area again.

One thing she did write and for me truer words were never spoken, was: "Never feel isolated and never feel fear in my presence." And I haven't from that day on.

Going back to her first note, "Not sure what she could add to the group?", probably the most understated line ever written.

What did you add?

You added the "HEART" to this body we call the DGIV Family, long may it beat!!!!

E' you have a great Birthday because you have spent your time well and are just another step closer to a Fabulous Destiny!!!

Everyone else have a great day!!!

BTW: For those that want, go leave a Birthday message here, it's OK because today is the day:
