Jetups-

Hello, what day is it? You're right; those quotes are from pre-opening yesterday. Globex won't trade until tomorrow afternoon. I need some sleep.

Jetups -

Yes, the Globex figures are from Friday, but it is still interesting - I was watching during market hours and the futures were way down (where they are now) during the whole day, even though the market was trading flat. I wonder if this means we'll gap down on Monday.

Globex of course can flip really fast right at market open and isn't a reliable indicator. Still, a strong negative indicates volatility with a downward bias if nothing else.

You see all these people guessing where the market is headed, using complicated TA of all kinds. They're throwing darts in the dark. Clearly, nobody has a clue for the short-term movement; it's radically unpredictable from a technical point of view.

Given the tradition of besting early warnings, we might get a rally leading into the April earnings reports. Will we dip first or race above 10,000? I can't judge the mood and have never managed to make money by predicting overall market movement. Do you have a strategy on this?

When Globex is way down during trading hours, on the other hand, I feel confident we're not going to have major rally that day. If it stays low, Monday will open down. It gives us the pulse of the market just below the surface.
