Susan G, Thanks for the feed back on your plans.. presently I'm using the IE with MRJ2.1 Java version and it works nicely with Datek's streaming real time quotes, and I can probably get by with that, but I thought it might be easier with a real time graph.. I'm still weighing the pros and cons. I have so many services now .. however non of them seem to give me what I need. The Datek streaming quotes comes the closest because they have the bid and ask and bid size ask size.. that makes it easier to see any momentum that is occuring.. Post when you end up with something you like.

IQChart is good... I used it for a while... quotes are not "live" however... you have to keep clicking away on each stock for price quotes. The chart is live but update is not tick by tick but once a minute... good enough. TIP: If you wish to see multiple charts at the same time, you can make any number of chart windows your memory will support each containing different stocks. Sized properly in my 19" monitor at 1600 x 1200 resolution... I was able to display 9 functional charts at the same time... smaller of course but workable. That's something I am unable to do in my QCharts... but was able to do with Live Charts in quote.com thru pages of IE4...

Good hunting,
SF

PS: The Win machines are dirt cheap now you know...

Susan - Review this web site. Trendsetter Software is one of the few providers of Mac charting software. They offer live feeds and a number of options depending on how much you want to spend. Good luck... trendsoft.com

FYI, I started an IQ Charts thread last week for discussion and sharing:

techstocks.com

If you have any questions, I or others will try to answer them. An IQ Charts programmer has joined the thread and is taking suggestions and questions. He's already helped out several people. Also, there are several mac users who've shared their experiences.

Anyone who's looking for inexpensive real-time charting and scanning should check out the above link. You'll be happy you did...

p.s. -- If you need real-time quotes more than once a minute, you should use something else for quotes (many brokers offer free real-time quotes). IQ Charts' strengths are in the charting and the scans. Their quotes are useful in that you can quickly see where the stocks you watch are trading, but they're inadequate for active daytrading.
