As to there being demand for MSS systems, I have direct experience that tells me there is. I've known and interviewed a wide variety of professionals who will need this type of service. Yes, that is vague but it is exactly as accurate as the "market reports" we're getting with projected numbers. If you want I can make up numbers too.

Looking at it another way, the cellphone market is exploding. Over the next 5 years that market will continue to move into consumer space. Major consumer paradigm shifts come along only rarely- the last one was the acceptance of the PC, and that was tiny by comparison. The expectation of having and using your phone anywhere, anytime is goign to run smack dab into the large parts of this country that are not covered by cellular roaming, or are covered at absurd rates and create a vacume for the global sat phone business that will be impossible to fulfill. This is why I think iridium, with all its missteps will be a success, and Globalstar will blow out the doors- the projections of demand will look nieve.

Saw Iridium TV ad "world's first satellite phone" this evening on the Discovery Channel.

About damn time. Was starting to think that their marketing would launch when globalstar's does!
