I just want to add a bit to one of your passing comments:

MSFT is been pressured to settle soon with the DOJ. I'm sure that internally they have been considering alternatives for a while now.

What would happen if, as part of the settlement, MSFT agrees to split itself into (let's say) three companies?

That would catapult MSFT stock (further) to the moon, (remember the baby Bells) and give a strong push to the whole computer sector, (on talk of increased opportunities for smaller companies, and all that BS) and --why not?-- the whole market.

Eventually this could be a catalyst to take the Dow to 11400 and beyond...

The market looks bleak, but one short press release from Microsoft, and it's off to the races... (That's what I **really** like of this "game")
