Also wondering if there is anywhere I can go to learn about the usefulness of different features of hard drives.

My philosophy is that I don't always want the biggest hard drive or the fastest processor but what I do want is ruggedness, high quality, and great value for the modest uses I put my stuff to.

So I'm thinking of getting a really high quality Seagate HD in the 4 gig range. There also seem to be some deals on fast SCSI drives out there, of a modest size.
