Yes, puzzling, isn't it? Here's a more specific URL:

ssdi.ancestry.com

Note that it's an unusual surname: only 132 people called Writer have died since Social Security began keeping records. (And, um, some of 'em appear to have died more than once...)

So what happened to Gregory D. Writer, Sr, who, according to Our Greg, is dead?

exchange2000.com

There must be some simple explanation, but I confess it escapes me...

Now. We remember that

At the age of 21 Mr. Writer was the founder, President and a Director of R. Writer Securities, a registered securities broker-dealer in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

R. Writer Securities was incorporated in Florida and, apparently, sold in 1989, at which time its name was changed to Austin Stone Securities:

So: who was R. Writer? If Greg was the company founder, why didn't he use his own name? Only one likely R. Writer turns up in the SS Death Index:

ssdi.ancestry.com

Not much information about R is offered; but he did at any rate apply for his SS card from Colorado. Note that he died in September 1987; R. Writer Securities was incorporated in Florida in May 1987. He could, of course, be the wrong R; "our" R may conceivably still be alive...

But what happened--or didn't happen--to Greg Sr?

Terrific dig,TG and what a great site--interesting "no matches",and I see JS is now all over this--excellent!
I will tell you what I am up to today,as you may know I have been trying to expose IFLY for some time, but the one obstacle the believers always throw at me is that George Warde is the Chairman of Board(George Warde has an extremely impressive background in the Airlines industry) and then they say "case closed".
But I have asked myself, this man's background is so illustrious why is he at the age of 76 taking on the job of Chairman of the Board of this little travel agency,it just makes no sense.
And why when he was named the Chairman of the Board, was he not available for comment.
You can see where I heading on this one.
May be a total deadend, but worth a try.
Excellent,again,on that dig,Good Luck,Max
