If and when we decisively break that five year trendline, I would
have to conclude that the bull momentum from late '94 has been broken.

I can make a case that what looked like an atypical four year cycle bottom in October 98 has turned out to lack the strength that it needs to be a true four year cycle bottom, and that, therefore, we've got some real downside possibilities around the corner.
