CONOCO, KWIKPOWER SIGN AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP FUEL TECHNOLOGIES

(The following is a reformatted version of a press release issued by
Conoco.)

CONOCO AND KWIKPOWER INTERNATIONAL SIGN JOINT AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FUEL TECHNOLOGIES

London, April 25 -- Conoco Limited, the U.K. refining and marketing
subsidiary of Conoco Inc., and Kwikpower International, a U.S.-based fuel
technology company, announced today that they have signed a joint business
development agreement to evaluate and develop Kwikpower's proprietary fuel
technologies.

It is hoped that this joint evaluation program will lead to the
commercialization of several significant products and processes. These
include: Kwikpower's cleanburning ENGAS gasoline and diesel formulations,
both of which incorporate renewable fuel components; fuel stabilization
technology; and a process to convert waste lubricating oils into
high-quality diesel and fuel oils.

Under the terms of the agreement, Conoco has been granted a period of
exclusivity to participate with Kwikpower in the commercialization of
these technologies in exchange for funding the research and evaluation
program.

Dr. James R. Watkins, Chief Executive Officer of Kwikpower, said:
``We are extremely pleased to enter into an agreement with a world-class
energy company like Conoco. The agreement will provide Kwikpower with
immediate access to valuable resources and funding for our development and
commercialization programs, in both the U.S. and Europe.
``Our immediate objective is to recycle waste lubricating oil into
premium diesel components, which will then be blended into our patented
ENGAS alternative fuel formulations,'' he added. ``Our overall goal is to
offer consumers high-quality alternative fuels that are more sustainable
and cleaner burning, at prices that are comparable with conventional
fuels.''

Dave Kem, President, Refining and Marketing Europe for Conoco and
Senior Director, Conoco Limited, commented: ``Kwikpower's vision and
creative energy technologies are very much in line with Conoco's
commitment both to innovation and to sustainable development. By working
together under this joint business development agreement, we hope to be
able to prove that these technologies can be commercially attractive as
well as outstanding in environmental terms.''
