It is so nice to see some good discussion about IOM than about some specific individuals here. yes. i agree that Clik! so far has been a disappointment for all the hype it generated in Nov 97 Comdex. I think the old management just fooled everyone with that hype and a split announcement at that time. Well. it is going to take a lot of time to clean up everything. One welcome sign i see is the conservative state of the 1998 stock holder report from IOM while the 97 report was fully of colorful pictures pretending as though the whole was bed of roses for them.

I still think there is lot of hope for IOM with the price of Zip drives getting closer and closer to the floppy drives. I would like to see the media prices to drop but my choice is first the drives coming to the floppy prices than the media cost reduction. First block the borders and stop the encroachment of competition. Then proliferate and deepen the root. Zip100 drive at floppy drive price and Zip250 at $99 will do the trick i think. Hopefully, Clik! will have some OEMs and IOM would have had that cheaper version of Jaz2 by this fall. If IOM can manage somehow with +ve cash flow and some meager profit till fall, i am willing to bet that the game would have been over pretty much by then. We will see some y2k panic after that and could create some good awareness for the whole backup/drive sector.
